The beauty of Microlocks and Brotherlocks is that they can be made individual to you!
What are Microlocks?
Microlocks is a natural hairstyle system that was created by Dr. JoAnne Cornwell over 20 years ago. The process involves installing tiny micro locs through a weaving technique known as interlocking. Microlocks are ideal for women with curly, kinky or afro-textured hair and although it takes time, the results are stunning. Specialist training is required to achieve this style, which is why it is important to visit a certified Microlocks stylist like myself.
Based in Thornton Heath in Croydon, my Microlocks package is ideal for women in the local and surrounding areas wanting a beautiful Microlocks transformation. To begin the process, your hair can be natural or relaxed and as short as 1 ½ inches. The Perfectionist Unisex Salon service includes 3 stages, a consultation, locking session and follow-up visit:
During your first visit, I will ask questions about your haircare history, lifestyle and personal style preferences, in order to determine if Microlocks styling is right for you. This also gives you the chance to ask me any questions. I’ll also need to carry out a ‘locs test’ to check that your hair is suitable for Microlocks, as well as trial micro loc sizes. These tests are essential for making sure you are 100% happy with the style design and maintenance requirements.
I recommend bringing a book or something else to entertain yourself with for your main locking sessions. On average, the installation process takes 3 days of 8-hour sessions and results in the creation of 350-400 locs. As an experienced Microlocks stylist knowledgeable in the Microlocks patented grid pattern, you can feel confident in my hands. I receive excellent feedback from my clients in Thornton Heath and the surrounding areas, with customers always recommending my professional Microlocks service to friends and family.
Microlocks require frequent maintenance, especially during the first year as they thicken and roughly double in size. I provide a follow-up appointment 3-4 weeks after the final locking session, where I will check the integrity of your locs, tighten new growth and give you an idea of how long the maturing process is likely to take. After this, I recommend visiting the salon every 4-8 weeks for a retightening of the new growth. Remember, good maintenance is essential to keep your locks in the best and most glamourous condition.
